Greek-Roman marble works and Etruscan sculptures make up the largest part of the collection; there are also numerous inscriptios of historic significance, and even some Egyptian pieces. Der zweite Band der Palilia stellt alle jene Antiken vor, die – überwiegend in den Jugendjahren des Instituts ab 1829 – von Mitgliedern und Förderern geschenkt wurden und seitdem im DAI Rom aufbewahrt werden. Griechisch-römische Marmorwerke und etruskische Skulpturen bilden den größeren Teil, beachtlich ist der Bestand an Inschriften von historischer Bedeutung, und selbst ägyptische Werke sind vertreten. Mit den „PALILIA“ gibt das Deutsche Archäologische Institut in Rom eine neue Schriftenreihe heraus, in der monographische Arbeiten zur archäologischen Forschung in Italien und von Italien ausgehend veröffentlicht werden.<br/>Dabei sollen insbesondere neue Fragestellungen und innovative Forschungsmethoden, aber auch vernachlässigte Themenbereiche in der klassischen Archäologie zu Wort kommen.
