Short Description

The fourth occasional paper in the Studia Panopolitana series focuses on Akhmîm-Panopolis as one of Egypt’s major textile centres. The volume contains the proceedings of the international conference »The Textile Centre Akhmîm-Panopolis (Egypt) in Late Antiquity. Material Evidence for Continuity and Change in Society, Religion, Industry and Trade« organised by Georg-August-Universität Göttingen in cooperation with Skulpturensammlung und Museum für Byzantinische Kunst der Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin – Preußischer Kulturbesitz. The papers presented by established specialists in Textile
